Gboyega Sotunde

Born in early 70s in Ibadan, Oyo State a native of Abeokuta, Ogun State. Finished his secondary education in Abeokuta Grammar School. Gboyega graduated from The Polytechnic, Ibadan. Later proceeded to International Communications Training Institute, Radio Worldwide, Rothwell, Leeds. United Kingdom where he obtained a certificate in Advanced Radio Broadcasting and also worked with Rothwell Radio as an intern. Trained by INTERNEWS Network, Arcata, California, USA in 2003 in Digital Media.

Gboyega Sotunde started his Broadcasting sojourn with Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation in 1991 as program operator. He later went to pioneer Nigeria's first private radio station, Ray Power 100.5fm with the likes of Olusesan Ekisola, Ambrose Somide, Segun Shyllon, Yemi Adenuga and the rest. In 2000, Gboyega Sotunde left Ray Power to pioneer another first, a sports only Radio Station, Brila 88.9fm in Lagos as a senior producer/ Researcher where he Implemented training courses for new recruits — Radio production.

He later joined INTERNEWS Network, a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded organization in Nigeria as a Producer and a trainer.

Mr. Sotunde worked with journalists and C.L.Os on over 50 program areas and accurate reporting of HIV/AIDS and other public health issues.

A Broadcast Engineer, Skilled Radio Engineer and Technical expert with over fourteen years of vast working experience across companies and major radio stations in Nigeria, at both junior and managerial levels. He can adapt easily in any working environment with strong skills in leading, mentoring media professionals, and Engineering Organizations, delivering quality skills, exceptional Technical making skills, whilst seizing initiative with a sense of responsibility and admirable interpersonal skills.
